Michelle Pierson, E.A.
Hi, I am Michelle Pierson, principal owner of Tax on Point, an IRS Enrolled Agent with 19 years of tax preparation experience. The joy in my work comes from helping people learn how to manage their tax liabilities and become proactive in their financial life. Everyone wants our money, and we need to find ways to keep it.
In my first few years of employment, I began preparing my own taxes with forms that were available at my local library. Once my tax return became more complicated, I knew I wanted to explore the career field of income tax preparation. The tax season rush immediately appealed to me with its fast pace. Each client tax return is unique and interesting, and I treat each one like it is my own I am preparing. 60 hours of education made me a qualified tax preparer in the beginning, but experience has taught me everything.
During the off-seasons, I look for new ways to expand my knowledge. I taught a basic income tax course as a new preparer, worked at an accounting firm along a CPA, and earned my BA in Accounting. Further interest in the financial services industry brought me to a tax and financial planning firm where I serviced varied types of financial accounts and developed client specific plans with Certified Financial Planners. Now operating my own business allows more time with my family and more flexible arrangements with my clients, so I can continue doing what I love.
I have been married for 20 years to a retired Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer and have one son. My hobbies include cooking, hiking, painting, and a little welding.
